About

The Bio-Industry Organization of Southern Arizona (BIOSA) is a trade association formed to support the creation, operation and expansion of bio-based enterprises and the commercialization of university/research institute-based technologies in Southern Arizona. BIOSA is a dues paying organization that draws its membership from large and small companies, university, research institutions and individuals interested in the development of a strong bio-based industry in Southern Arizona.

The benefits of Membership are as follows and more are planned:

  • Monthly meetings where speakers are invited to give presentations of interest to the Southern Arizona Bio community. As a BIOSA member you enjoy a discounted rate.
  • Periodic evening “Mixers” that are held at locations around Tucson. The Mixer is an excellent opportunity to socialize with other BIOSA members and receive brief presentations on companies and products that might be of interest. BIOSA Members are free.
  • Substantial discounts on biotech products. This program is a collaboration with ThermoFisher and is available to BIOSA members at no cost.

Other benefits include

  • Access and information about important networking events
  • Awareness via newsletters and emails of industry news and trends
  • Access to the BIOSA resource network
  • Discounts for essential products and services

In addition to these benefits, your membership in BIOSA supports other activities in our community.  We are active in numerous community initiatives important to our industry such as economic development, participating in the Flinn Roadmap, entrepreneurship and providing expert networks to help our community thrive and success.  Events that your membership helps support include the student-industry event each year and supporting KEYS students at the UA (high school students working in University of Arizona research labs during the summer), IdeaFunding and supporting and representing Southern Arizona in the Arizona pavilion at the international BIO convention.
